Meet the Irish 2025

Culture Ireland, in association with the Irish Arts Center in New York, presented the third edition of the Meet the Irish showcase on 13 January 2025, offering six Irish theatre companies the opportunity to pitch their work to an auditorium of international programmers, presenters and festivals in New York City.

The six productions selected for this year’s showcase are:

  • Brokentalkers – Bellow
  • Once Off Productions/Graffiti Theatre Company – Grace
  • Gina Moxley with The Everyman and Once Off Productions – I Fall Down
  • Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival – Reunion
  • Dead Centre – Illness as Metaphor
  • THISISPOPBABY – 0800 Cupid

Established in 2023, Meet the Irish is an opportunity for Irish artists and arts organisations to engage with North American presenters and festivals, many of whom travel to New York in January to attend a range of cultural conferences and festivals including ISPA, APAP and Under the Radar.

It also coincides with the annual meeting in New York of the network of Irish cultural centres from across North America (NICCoNA). Branar presented a special performance of You’ll See… to the NICCONA network, and Sinéad O’Brien presented her two solo shows No One Is Coming and Hero/Banlaoch.

The Meet the Irish showcase also provides artists with the opportunity to network with international presenters and build relationships for future touring possibilities.
