Culture Ireland is supporting an Irish delegation of independent book publishers to attend the London Book Fair this week, in partnership with Literature Ireland.
The presence of an Irish stand at the London Book Fair has been supported for many years through Culture Ireland’s annual grant to Literature Ireland, but this year marks the first time travel bursaries have been awarded to the Irish independent publishing sector to assist with the costs of attendance at the event.
Founded in 1971, the London Book Fair is one of the primary global marketplaces for rights negotiations for the publishing industry and attracts over 25,000 publishing professionals.
During the event, publishers will meet literary agents, international colleagues, and translators to develop further opportunities for Irish writers to reach an international readership.
The independent publishers who have been selected to attend this year’s London Irish Book Fair are:
- Banshee Press
- Cló Iar-Chonnacht
- Darragh Shanahan
- The Lilliput Press
- Publishing Ireland
- The O’Brien Press
- Wordwell
- New Island Books
- Merrion Press
The 2025 London Book Fair takes place at the Olympia London Exhibition Centre from 11 to 13 March 2025.
The Ireland national stand number is 2A101 and you can find details on all the Irish delegates here.
