The Irish Writers’ Weekend at the British Library, supported by Culture Ireland and featuring over thirty of Ireland’s most exciting writers in a festival of literary talent, takes place this weekend at the British Library Knowledge Centre in London. For those outside of London, many of sessions will be made available to view online.
The programme includes a wide range of Ireland’s most accomplished and popular authors and poets. Included on the line-up for the weekend are Kevin Barry, Lucy Caldwell, Sinéad Gleeson, Rónán Hession, Caoilinn Hughes, Neil Jordan, Louise Kennedy, Claire Kilroy, Cauvery Madhavan, Lisa McInerney, Una Mannion, Mike McCormack, Paul Muldoon, Séamas O’Reilly, Fintan O’Toole, Donal Ryan and many more.
Weekend Passes give full access to Saturday and Sunday daytime sessions. Single day passes are also available, and tickets to watch most sessions online either live or for 7 days on catch up. More information on tickets can be found here.
Headline events take place each evening, for which separate tickets are required to attend in person. Friday 22 November features Graham Norton, Louise Kennedy and Paul Muldoon. On Saturday 23 November Muldoon’s Picnic is a cabaret of words and music making its London debut, and the Weekend closes on Sunday evening with Country Girl: A Tribute to Edna O’Brien.

Beidh Deireadh Seachtaine Scríbhneoirí na hÉireann ag Leabharlann na Breataine, arna thacú ag Cultúr Éireann agus ina mbeidh os cionn tríocha sárscríbhneoir de chuid na hÉireann ag glacadh páirt i bhféile scothlitríochta, ag tarlú an deireadh seachtaine seo ag Ionad Eolais Leabharlann na Breataine i Londain. Dóibh siúd lasmuigh de Londain, cuirfear roinnt de na seisiúin ar fáil le coimheád ar líne.
Sa chlár beidh réimse leathan de na húdair agus na filí is cumasaí agus is clúitigh de chuid na hÉireann.
